“Now, more than ever, I know exactly what I want. I want all of this and a little bit better. Under a big blue and orange sky.”

Marina is a freelance photographer and writer with a passion for storytelling, currently earning her stripes as a New Yorker and documenting experiences as seen through a mostly-rose-colored camera lens. (She rarely writes in third person.)

Formerly a music journalist turned marketer, she acquired her prized camera when it was left behind by an ex boyfriend. After an eleven year career in the tech industry, she put her tech world on mute and made lemonade from that camera. Her recent recognized work has featured New York’s iconic restaurants, Billboard’s Heatseeker musicians, brand work for Napa Valley’s beloved vineyards, and the world’s most recognized city emptied by a global pandemic.

During a season of transition, she began sharing her most vulnerable stories with the world through social media - creating a channel for human connection and marrying her love of words with pictures. After growing up in Seattle, she followed her romantically-cliche dreams, packed three bags of clothes and moved to the Big City with no plan and no survival handbook beyond her wits and a well-formatted resume.

She’s the friend who buys you a copy of the book she can’t put down, raves about her favorite discoveries - from candles with a cult following to hidden shops - and believes that sharing stories or any information is essential to building connection and community.

She lives in Williamsburg with a massive closet, an in-unit washer and dryer, and her Australian Shepard, Leo, which is a New Yorker’s definition of “making it.”

When she’s not behind a camera or tucked away in her very own Carrie Bradshaw inner-monologue corner, she’s usually out for a run along the Brooklyn waterfront, traveling somewhere new, eating somewhere highly-instagrammable with Leo at her feet and just generally documenting life well lived.
